About the artist!
Hi, I’m Rose! I’m an illustrator originally from Bristol, and a soon to be graduate of BA Illustration at the University of Gloucestershire.
I love to create art inspired by feelings of nostalgia from my childhood, or common childhood experiences for those born in the 00’s. My work is personal to me, and explores experiences of girlhood, womanhood and anything in between. I also like to incorporate a sense of uncomfortableness in many of my illustrations, with topics such as mental health, feminism, queer experiences, environmentalism, and classism.
I also like to illustrate work that isn’t so serious and has little thought put into it, I just do it because it’s cute or interesting to me!
My work is primarily digital, but I love to experiment with different traditional techniques! Bright or pastel colours are my favourite to use, (especially pink!) as they remind me of my own childhood, and how bright the world is when you are young.
I am currently in the process of working towards my “Final Major Project” for university, creating a book inspired by old Argos catalogues, filled with my own imaginary product designs. Additionally, I aim for my book to be a commentary on AI “art”, looking at how off-putting artificial design is.
In the future, I aim to attend markets, create an Etsy to sell my work and work towards having a regular newsletter to give updates on what I’m up to!
